I've been wanting to use this cast iron dutch oven for awhile now but just getting around to it. This was my great-great grandma's and I found it years ago in my grandmas barn. I tried to clean it up a few years ago but didn't know the proper way to care for cast iron, so I almost ruined it-it turned to complete rust. One of my camping buddies told me to lube it all up with Crisco inside and out and bake it. It came out all black and shiny--brand-spankin-new!!! (my house stunk for a week though!!)This recipe was one from my friend, Wendy, who uses her cast iron alot. It was super simple. We camped out in the backyard and made this Sloppy Jo Biscuit Bake. YUM!!
